My take on the contemporary B&W image was to really use the contrast of the blacks and whites to reshape the image. I wanted my photographs to be immersed in the blacks and to use the whites to help rescue the image.

Description: I’m sure some of you dabble in the desaturation but in the wake of a few recent exhibitions and writings, I’m starting to think that there may be a new little (or big) movement of B&W photography but done in a contemporary way that takes hold. Let’s give it a shot. I’m not talking about just desaturating images but rather trying to make B&W images that belong in 2009 (or 2010!). This isn’t your high school darkroom assignment. Shoot with contemporary B&W in mind.
