tomorrow night: Art Bang!
If you’re in L.A. tomorrow night and looking for something fun to do, you should come by Art Bang! I’ve contributed a photo to this art show/sale produced by Bagavagabonds and benefitting Two Wings. There will be free drinks, live music, a photo booth, cheap art, and many cool people to hang out with!

I was especially excited that this assignment came along for the month in which I was traveling to Ecuador. While there I visited a variety of places, from Mindo, a tiny ecological preserve in the cloud forest (top photo), to the capital city of Quito (bottom photo).
Please visit my tumblr for more photos from the trip.
I recently got to shoot Cold War Kids for the Winter 2011 issue of FMS Magazine (London):

and Oh Land for the Fashion Issue of 944 Magazine (March 2011):

Dead tilapia washed up from the Salton Sea.
Do you know where your food comes from? ;)
Please take a moment to check out a few images from my recently-completed project Everything Falls Into Place, which were featured on the awesome site Icon-ology. The project documents clothing designer Ashton Michael as he prepares and shows his New York Fashion Week debut.
More images can be seen on my blog and website.

I really kind of dreaded doing this assignment, because it’s a huge challenge to see what the camera sees from in front of it. So it was funny to me in retrospect that I chose to do a double exposure - as if a single shot wasn’t bad enough! But in looking at the work of my fellow TIAPB contributors, I really loved Alexa Miller’s fashion work with multiple images, so I had to go where inspiration took me. Here are some of the images that informed my self portrait:
I spent a few days in the hospital last month, right after this was assigned. Armed with nothing more than a few magazines to keep me entertained (I didn’t expect to be there as long as I was), I took the following shots of my surroundings to keep busy and fight boredom.
