Jana Cruder - My Other Passion

I realized when we gave this assignment… it took me a while to really solidify what my other passion was. When asked what is your passion, my auto answer is photography. So being that
THISISAPHOTOBLOG and you’ve assigned us the task of identifying and creating an image of our OTHER PASSION ( assuming other then photography) I have to say I was stuck.

I thought of many things, my finance, my dog Walter, cooking, gardening ect.

Then we took a much needed mini vacation to Zion Utah (one of my most favorite places on earth) a few weekends ago & I got back on the rock for the first time since October and realized my other passion truly and with out a doubt is CLIMBING.

I’ve attached two pics of me climbing a 460+ ft route called “Lead by Sheep” in Zion Utah.

~ Keep on Rockin!

Jana Cruder: SPORTS

Weightlifting!!! We had a bunch of gold painted weights left over from a shoot I just shot so I did a little set up with my assistant Zach pumping iron to some tunes.

High Contrast - Jana Cruder

For this assignment, I was inspired by the words “stay away from a perfectly exposed image” & deep dark shadows. Most times all I do is worry about how perfect my exposure is because in digital many times you can’t afford to be off at all. For this assignment, I purposely underexposed my images for the effect. It was a dark, cold and rainy Malibu day. We were shooting in a cold, dark and empty Malibu home. I went with it and brought the atmosphere and darkness into the image by underexposing the image I think the end result and effect worked in favor of the fashion story.

Keep shooting!
